How to Create an Impactful CV

Your CV is not a list of jobs. At senior level, it is the document that decides whether someone reads on, or moves to the next candidate.

I built this course from thirty years inside executive search, watching what makes a hiring manager keep reading and what makes them stop. It teaches you to structure your CV strategically, describe your experience through outcomes rather than duties, and tailor it for a specific role without rewriting it from scratch each time.

At the centre of the course are four AI prompts I built from my own coaching conversations: Personal Profile, the Experience Impact Model, Skills in Action, and ELEVATE, the same model I use in my one-to-one ELEVATE Review sessions. Each one is designed to ask you the questions I would ask, so the result still sounds like you.

You'll leave this course with:

  • A CV that reflects your experience accurately and positions you for the level you're moving into.

  • A method you understand well enough to keep using, not a one-off document you'll be guessing at again next time.

  • The same frameworks and prompts I use with my 1:1 clients, ready to apply to every future application.

  • Templates and bonus guidance for senior career complexity: interim and contract roles, NED and trustee experience, career gaps, and sector moves.

A woman with long blonde hair smiling slightly, standing with arms crossed against a plain white background, wearing a blazer and a necklace.

I'm Heather I’anson, a career coach with over 30 years of experience in executive recruitment and leadership development.

Throughout my career, I’ve helped senior professionals across sectors clarify their value, build career confidence, and move into roles where they truly thrive.

I created this course after seeing the same challenge time and again — talented individuals struggling to articulate their impact on paper.

Drawing on thousands of CV reviews, shortlisting panels, and coaching sessions, I developed the Experience Impact Model (EIM) — a practical framework that helps you move beyond responsibilities and write about real outcomes.

If you’re ready to stop underselling yourself and start presenting your experience with clarity and confidence, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
