The Interview Intensive

What makes this different

Before your session I research the organisation and the role. I locate the competency framework relevant to that appointment, whether published by the organisation, specific to the sector, or drawn from my own senior recruitment experience. I prepare a tailored question bank covering every likely topic area, approaching each from multiple angles so I can assess how you think, not just what you say.

In the session itself I use the Interview Playbook, my proprietary framework for senior interview preparation, to assess your performance across the areas that matter most at this level: how you introduce yourself, how you structure your evidence, whether your examples are calibrated to the seniority of the role you are seeking rather than the role you currently hold, how you handle difficult questions around development, career history, values, and EDI, and whether you are talking about yourself or talking to the organisation you want to join.

That last point matters more than most candidates realise. Strong examples delivered to the wrong audience do not land. Understanding the difference, and making the adjustment, is something most candidates only discover after an interview they did not get. We do that work before you walk in.

Most interview preparation teaches you to answer questions. The Interview Intensive teaches you to think at the level the panel is operating at.

There is a significant difference between those two things, and it is the difference that determines whether you are appointed.

At executive level, interviews change in nature. Panels are no longer assessing whether you can manage the day to day. They are assessing whether you can hold strategic intent over multiple years, navigate complexity, and lead at a level that changes the organisation. Knowing how to demonstrate that, specifically and credibly, is a skill in itself. It is also what I have spent three decades assessing from the other side of the table.

What you receive

A tailored question bank prepared specifically for your role and organisation. A structured session using the Interview Playbook framework. Expert diagnostic feedback on structure, evidence, level, and alignment. Guidance on difficult questions covering development areas, career history, values, and EDI. Support with interview nerves and performance mindset. The full question bank and session notes sent after the session so your preparation continues independently.

The Interview Intensive Programme

Senior professionals in active job searches rarely face just one interview. They are managing second rounds, parallel processes, and different organisations simultaneously. Each interview demands a different emphasis, a different calibration of evidence, a different read of what the panel is really looking for.

The Interview Intensive Programme is three sessions across your active process, each one built around a specific interview, each one deepening what the last one started.

The first session establishes your foundations: how you introduce yourself, how you structure your evidence, and where your answers are currently landing relative to the level you are aiming for. Most candidates discover in this session that their examples are good but aimed at the wrong audience.

The second session applies everything to a specific organisation and opportunity, adjusting the emphasis of your evidence to reflect what that particular panel will be listening for and what the role actually requires beyond the job description.

By the third session the work becomes precise. Individual words. The exact weight of evidence against a complex competency framework. The difference between an answer that demonstrates capability and one that demonstrates readiness for this specific level of leadership. This is where the real improvement happens, and it is the work that is hardest to do alone.

Who this is for

You have been invited to interview for a role that matters to you. You have the experience for it. You want to walk into that room knowing your thinking is sharp, your evidence is calibrated to the level, and your preparation is as thorough as it can be.

The single session suits candidates preparing for a specific interview. The three-session programme suits those managing an active, multi-stage process or running parallel applications simultaneously.

The advice felt absolutely tailored to my ambition and the reality of the current job market. I immediately applied all of Heather’s suggestions and have seen a measurable change in my application to interview success rate.
